Over the past 25 years we have explored some of the wildest rivers on the planet and the source of the Nile is our favourite. In 1996 Adrift made an historic first descent of the White Nile in Uganda and introduced whitewater rafting to the source of the Nile. We now offer thrilling adventures for all ages and abilities.
More than four thousand miles in length, the mighty Nile is the longest river on earth. The great waterway has played a monumental role in history. It traverses an incredible variety of landscapes, a colourful medley of cultures and since the beginning of time has enthralled civilisations with its power and mystery. Ancient Egyptian kings sent armies in search of the source of the great river and explorers from Heredotus to Speke have sought to chart its course. Until recently no one dared challenge the White Nile at its source - some of the most powerful and sustained rapids on earth.
At the Adrift Riverbase on the equator, the mighty Nile rushes rapidly between forest covered islands, explodes in huge warm waves and creates the best rapids for rafting, kayaking and river surfing to be found anywhere in the world.
